Service Description

Do you need band shirts?...print your own.. like that style of poster?.. Go print your own! In this lesson you will learn the basics of Silk Screen Printing, and we will print a Makerspace T-Shirt that you can take home with you. Important Note: Wear "work clothes" that you dont mind getting dirty/ink stained, Also contact us with your shirt size, to make sure we have your size in stock age restriction: 13 and up or accompanied by an adult We will go over: *Walk through of the dark room *Process of emulsion *Exposing the screen on the light table *Spray booth operation, to blow out the screen *Will be printing on a prepared screen (Makerspace Design) operating the big printing press. * Lining up layout, flood screen, pull to print * Flash dryer to heat and cure the ink and bingo bango and you have your first printed shirt! All class fees, materials and instruction are included in your class ticket cost. If you are a Current Mankato Makerspace Member you may use coupon code: MEMBER DISCOUNT to get $5 off your ticket. This class is the FIRST in a series of courses that you will need to take to get you certified to use the print shop independently. Make it a fun night out! We have all been cooped up during these strange and stressful times. Many of us are trying to find fun and safe activities to do with friends and family, to help us reconnect after being apart for so long. So sign up with your significant other and some friends! BYOB if 21+ Rest assured that the Makerspace staff are doing their best to keep this a safe environment with extra cleaning and safety protocols. High traffic surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant, but please help us out by following these protocols: If you have been feeling sick please communicate with the instructor to postpone or reschedule. Open communication is Key! Sanitize your hands and Sign in when you arrive, Wear your mask if you wish to do so, Have A Blast During Class, Wash your hands periodically, Sign out before you leave.
