About the event

Using Procion MX fiber reactive dyes in a low-water immersoon process, you will leave class with a minimum of 6 fat quarters that change in hue from dark to light.Complete dye process will be demonstrated in class, including rinse out. Due to time required in a dye -bath, participants fabric will be prepared, immersed in dye bath, and transported home for rinsing.

Registration required….class size is limited to 8 participants…..$45 (Makerspace members $40), Fee

covers 6 fat quarters, each additional 6 add $6. Payable to instructor.

Bring

- minimum of 1 ½ yards white 100% cotton fabric for 6 fat quarters*

- 6 plastic or glass containers WITH LIDS (or one per fat quarter you plan to dye), pint/quart size

- Box or container for transporting containers

- Apron, oversized shirt, or smock to protect your clothing from rogue dye**

*approximately 18” x 22” each

*A gently used 100% cotton white sheet will work!

*ALL fabric should be washed & dried with NO FABRIC SOFTENERS

**Do not wear your favorite anything! Dye can get messy!

Makerspace will provide experienced instructor, soda ash bath, dye for solutions, measuring utensils,

dye mixing box, gloves, masks, directions and materials list for home use.
